Our client is looking to fill the position below:

Job Title: Field Supervisor

Department: Operations

  Job Description

expected to contribute to the health and safety of all personnel in the overall business unit.

Comply with health and safety procedures and instructions. 

Ensures driver is authorized and fit to drive as well as performs mechanical safety inspections of all TSL owned and operated road vehicles and other vehicles as required to enforce compliance with applicable Federal, state laws, and TSL policies and standards. 

Ensures drivers are authorized and fit to drive before they embark on a trip and possesses valid HSSEQ Passports, driver license.

Ensures that the driver is not under any known JM or HSSEQ sanction due to violations or incidents.

Inspect vehicles or equipment to ensure compliance with policies, rules, procedures, standards, or regulations before they embark on a trip.

Review trip logs, driver license, or driver and equipment records to detect any problems or to ensure compliance with regulations.

Inspect and ensure that trips commence during authorized driving hours

Inspect equipment such as batteries, FM systems, etc. for evidence of abuse, damage, or mechanical malfunction.

Examine transportation vehicles, equipment, or systems to detect damage, wear, or malfunction.

Issue notices and recommend corrective actions when infractions or problems are found.

Inspect repairs to transportation vehicles or equipment to ensure that repair work was performed properly.

Prepare reports on investigations or inspections and actions taken.

Investigate complaints regarding HSSEQ violations.

Investigate incidents or violations, such as delays, accidents, and equipment failures.

Investigate and make recommendations on requests for waiver of Journey Management rules and TSL’s Standards of Vehicles for Road Transportation Goods and Products.

Negotiate with internal customers such Fleet Management and Operations to eliminate hazards along transportation routes.

Any other oversight function determined from time to time by Management.

  HSSEQ responsibilities

Ensure that adequate and effective risk assessments are undertaken and regularly reviewed.

Liaise with Head HSSEQ on any health, safety or security problem which you cannot resolve.

Responsible for the health, safety and welfare of all staff under direct management and

  Reporting Relationships

Functionally Reports to Safety Manager Administratively Reports to

Head, HSSEQ Department Supervises by

Road Transport Safety Supervisor.

  Job Requirements 

Minimum of HND but preferably a university degree in mechanical engineering.

Experience not a requirement but previous experience in office administration, marketing, customer care will be an advantage Professional Membership Or Registration

Solid background in project management and maintenance and Integrity management.

Safety oriented and Team worker with good interpersonal skills and great deal of initiative.

Excellent English written and communication skills.

Familiar with various engineering disciplines among automobile industry.
